The Festival will be travelling between Madrid and Berlin every other year. The first scheduled Berlin Festival will be held in 2019. This will be the 2nd Edition of the festival.
After a successful Meraki Film Festival in Madrid 2018 we plan to move the 2019 edition to Berlin, taking place from March 7th – 9th, enabling us to screen a greater amount and variety of films. This Berlin edition of the Meraki Film Festival will also include the opportunity for filmmakers and members of the film industry to get together and engage in discussions and forums about film-making and film creation. It will be a great place to meet new friends and to share your passion for cinematography.
The Festival has been created for films and screenplays that have been made with great passion and are the realisation of a dream for the filmmaker.
We understand that to many, these projects are never truly ‘finished’ or ‘perfect’ but they are already great works of art.
We are looking to showcase films that have new and fresh perspectives, that a take a different look at the world in a unique way. Films that bring unique stories, points of view and concepts. Films for everyone, that show what a great level of passion can create.
We welcome all varieties of films including shorts and feature length films of any genre or subject.
A selection of the winners from the 2019 edition will be eligible to be screened at our 3rd edition in 2020.
